Here’s a little glimpse into my home.
On a gorgeous sunny day last July my beautiful soul sista Danielle joined me for some front porch brunchin’! After avocado toasts, smoothies and good laughs, Danielle with her keen eye saw the sun coming though the front window and said, “Valerie! This light! We need to take pictures!” So we did.
These photos were so fun, playful and spontaneous and I was thankful she brought her camera to capture a little moment of our fun afternoon! She’s such a talented photographer and I feel so lucky to call her my friend.
I’d also like to introduce you to Ruby, my beloved Vizsla dog who loves to share kisses and show off her smile. I sure adore this little girl.
I collect the work of other artists and have filled my home with inspiration from admired creatives! My space is definitely colorful; every room is painted in a different hue and it’s so fun! Friends that visit my home are often surprised that my paintings are displayed only in my studio, but I enjoy the charm and variety of art made by others too!
The featured painting of Florence, Italy was created by one of my favorite artists, Ben Joyce, and is close to my heart as I spent a summer studying art in Florence while in college. I bought this piece in 2008 during a pivotal time in my life and it continues to inspire every day. Ben’s work is abstract, textural and amazing! His inspiration comes from places, specifically arial views of geographical locations which he’s coined Abstract Topophilia® – The Love of Place. He’s a gem of a person to boot and that makes me appreciate his art even more.
I hope you enjoy this little piece of my heart! xoxo
