Color makes me really happy!
This combination is a bit adventurous, to say the least, and I knew in order to pull off this entire color scheme, I just had to be bold and go with it. If you want to mix it up, try bits of this combination! Chances are, you’ll get a great response and compliments wearing unexpected colors together! If you’re not feeling it for your wardrobe, but like the idea, incorporate it in your home decor!
So here’s the simple color recipe for this look:
YELLOW + VIOLET (purple) = complementary colors = YUM!
YELLOW-GREEN + RED-VIOLET = complementary colors = SUPER YUM!
Pair them all together and you have massive color harmony! This hue combination works because the color wheel says so and it really does! I realize the look is a bit bold, but it’s fun to push the boundaries sometimes and go for the rainbow, if you will.
This painting, The Drive, was the color inspiration for this outfit. Throughout this post, I included small textural details of this series of paintings to give you a better sense of the thick application of paint. I created the original in 2012 and the buyer commissioned four more 12″ square canvases to accompany the original painting for a collage effect.
It was certainly a fun, creative and colorful project! Sadly my final collage picture doesn’t do it justice, but hopefully this post will give you some color inspiration to try out.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season! Cheers friends!! xoxo
