This day was the first truly sunny day in FOREVER and it was so much fun exploring under clear blue skies to find an inspired location to shoot. Often times I have a location in mind to reflect a certain color scheme or vibe, but today it was all on a whim. I love it that way.
I’ve had a big art show up this last month and it was really rewarding to share my art and the blog and to see people’s reactions and hear their responses. One of the most common questions was: “What comes first, the outfit or the painting?” and “Which order do you prefer?”
I most prefer dressing for my mood and think this is pretty typical of everyone. It may be a certain color that inspires me, a specific article of clothing I want to wear or even just a vibe I want to express that particular day. It’s usually more fun to paint when I have the fashion photograph to use as inspiration. I certainly have many paintings that come first, which is also fun, but it’s definitely more challenging to match a wardrobe to a painting.
Anyhoo. Hope you all have a fantastic week!! xoxo
